“I considered the automobile to be more than a simple means of transportation”
-Dr. Ferry Porsche
I was born in the Dominican Republic, and, from a very young age, I was fascinated by cars. At first, I was not exactly intrigued by any particular makes or models of cars; they were all amazing to see. When my uncle first purchased a classic Volkswagen Beetle back in the late 1990s, however, I finally began to notice how certain cars are capable of standing out from others due to their design and other characteristics such as their sound. The early 2000s saw my first exposure to what was still an evolving medium of the everyday life, the computer, thanks to a very close cousin of mine. I was always excited to go to his house just to be able to play whatever racing game he had obtained. All it took was one video game made by the legendary Electronic Arts company. I remember when my cousin obtained Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed, and I played it for the first time. From the moment I fired up the game, and navigated through all of its menus, in my head I immediately processed the design of all of these cars I was seeing for the first time, such as the 356, 911, and Boxster, and noticed how they closely resembled the classic Beetle. It was like a spark igniting inside my head. That was the day I recognized Porsche as being my favourite car manufacturer. From then on, I admired the cars, whether behind the computer screen or on the street(they were and still are quite a rare sight in the Dominican Republic). In 2007, my family made the big decision to move to Canada, where I have resided ever since. It was here that I have been able to see Porsches on a much more frequent basis, and have been able to see some very awesome cars. I hope that with this blog, I can document on the cars that I come across, in addition to giving my thoughts and opinions on any interesting vehicles that I come across for sale and the latest from Porsche themselves. I hope that you, the reader, find the content in my website both entertaining and/or useful with regards to the world of Porsche.
Best Regards,
