Porsche Extending Expiring Warranties By 3 Months

Those who have been following government rules to handle the pandemic have likely been spending lots of time at home. That in turn means that lots of Porsches are spending more time than ever in the garage. If you are a Porsche owner who’s warranty was set to end between March and May of this year, well, I have good news for you.

Cars whose warranty expiration dates fall within the aforementioned window will get a 3 month extension. This includes vehicles with both the new vehicle warranty and the Porsche Approved warranty. There are absolutely no geographical limitation to the extension; it is valid worldwide.

“Our ultimate aim is to create enthusiasm among our customers – this includes providing outstanding services particularly in difficult times. We have therefore decided to implement a uniform and unbureaucratic solution worldwide. Customers do not have to do anything, the Porsche Centers will take into account the extension automatically.” says Daniel Schukraft, Head of Aftersales at Porsche AG.

The new warranty end dates will be calculated from the original. Say for instance a warranty was to originally end on May 1st. If you add the 3 months , then the warranty will now end on August 1st. For reference, Porsche’s new vehicle warranties are valid for 2 years from the vehicle’s delivery date, while the Porsche Approved warranty lasts 1 year, also from the delivery date. The announcement should be relieving to Porsche owners currently unable to drive their cars, thus being unable to take advantage of their warranties should something malfunction with their vehicles after the quarantine.
